We support the University community to ensure the Okanagan campus is a safe place to work, study, and reside. Service is provided 365 days per year, with 24 hour, campus-wide coverage. Security guards are comprised of qualified personnel and are the first responders to all emergencies on campus.
UBC’s Okanagan campus has a new tool to promote safety. UBC Safe is a free mobile app designed for our entire community – students, faculty, and staff. The app has multiple functions. You can: call Safewalk, report an incident to Campus Security, request first aid, find a campus map and so much more!
The Security Management Team in consultation with Risk Management Services and Facilities Management, coordinates responses to all emergency situations. All incidents should be reported to Campus Security at 250.807.8111 or Local 78111 or through regional emergency services at 911. When utilizing 911 a follow-up call should be made to Security at 250.807.8111 or Local 78111.
Emergency calls to Campus Security, 250.807.8111 or Local 78111, can be made from any office telephone on campus and from the blue emergency security telephones located strategically outside the campus buildings and selected areas throughout the campus grounds. See Campus Map for emergency phone locations.
